Basics & Techniques

The basics of modeling a feminine figure or anything organic in 3D falls back to traditional arts. A strong understanding of forms, anatomy and muscles is required to build good 3D models. It's always good to have at least 1 anatomy reference book beside you! One good anatomy book I recommend is Human Anatomy for Artist.

Learning to draw portraits aids in the creation of 3D human head. The proportions, placement of eyes, nose, lips etc are at the finger tips of an artist who draws portrait regularly. 'Drawing' in 3D is the same as drawing portraits! Just that you have another 'Z' axis to take care of and your 'drawing' now can be rotated 360°.
